FAQs

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be helpful for anyone who wants to improve their mental health, manage stress, develop coping strategies, or work through personal challenges. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just want to better understand yourself, therapy can provide valuable support.

What should I expect in my first therapy session?

In your first session, the therapist will typically ask you questions about your background, reasons for seeking therapy, and your goals. This is a collaborative process where you and your therapist will create a plan for how to work together to achieve your objectives.

Do you accept insurance? How much does therapy cost?

We accept a variety of insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Blue Choice PPO Plans, Aetna, Cigna and The University of Chicago Student Health (U-SHIP).  We are not in network with BCBS HMO plans or the BCBS MyBlue Plus plan. Please check with your insurance provider to verify benefits and coverage. If you are paying out of pocket we charge $185 for an individual session.

Where are sessions held?

All sessions are virtual, which means you can have them anywhere that you have privacy, as long as you are located in Illinois during the time of the session. You will be sent a link before the session that will take you to a secure, HIPAA compliant platform.

I still have more questions, what should I do?

Reaching out is a great first step! You can start by sending us an e-mail to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation, where you can ask any questions or concerns you might have, learn more about your therapist, and then decide if we might be the right fit for you.
